Oh, You Mad, Bro?

Not everyone is going to like you. Let's face it. As adorable as your mother may think that you are..there will be people that just don't feel you.

And that's okay. Jesus commands us to love everyone. Not to like everyone. Now some of you may say that you can't love someone without liking them. And we can agree to disagree on that. Because I know quite a few people that I love and just do not like.

My brother. He is judgemental. My ex. He is unforgiving. My dad. He is too religious. My cousin. She blows in the wind. I could go on. But you get the idea.

And I know what you are most probably saying. That I may have a problem with men..not true, I have bigger problems with women because I do not have problems with men. I have always been a man's woman. So naturally, that is a problem for most women.

Or you may be saying that the problem could just be me. Possibly. God is still working on, in, and through all of us.

But I think you understand my point. I love my daddy, my lil bro, and my ex with all my heart..would do anything for any of them..but right now I struggle to like them. And well..my cousin..well that's a whole other blog.

But all of that is okay. There is a lesson in not liking them. My brother has taught me tolerance for people who do things I don't agree with. My ex has taught me to let go when its time and to forgive completely and without strings or conditions. My dad has taught me not to forget where Jesus brought me from. And my cousin has taught me to cut ties when its for my own good.

God put us here to have influence over certain people. So not everyone will like us no more than we will like everyone. But our love for Christ, and therefore them, can teach us to appreciate the blessings in our differences.
